1st Wickhambrook Scout Group currently has a Beaver Colony and a Cub Pack, both these groups aim to provide a balanced program of activities that falls within the scouting ethos (community values, teamwork friendship, fun and adventure etc).
We are within the Cambridgeshire county and are a Newmarket district group.
NEWS : On the 15th November 2011 in the URC hall at 18.30, 1st Wickhambrook Scouts will be holding its AGM. Our group has a committee that helps run the group along with the section leaders. The committee is made up of a Chair Person, Treasurer and Secretary. At this AGM we will need to elect a new Chair Person and Treasurer this is where you come in.... Can you spare a few hours once a term plus possibly a few Saturdays a year to help with running and fundraising for the group?? No experience is required but all committee members will need to have a full CRB check (funded by the group). For more information email Andrew (Group Scout Leader) 1stwickhambrook@gmail.com
AGM - 15th November at the URC Hall at 18.30.
We are having an exciting time in the Beaver section this term.
So far we have
Visited Wickhambrook firestation with the Cubs
Completed our first aid badges over two nights, this involved learning the recovery posistion, how to open an airway, treating burns and bleeding and reconising dangers in the house.
We have been on a litter pick at Wickhambrook park with the Cubs and collected lots of bags of rubbish (Our message is BIN IT NOT THROW IT!!)
Played games
Tried new foods and learnt about Fair Trade
And finally welcomed Bethany as our new young leader and Mike as an adult leader.
