Wickhambrook Womens Institute Reports

January and February 2008

At the January meeting of the WI, author Carolyn Soutar gave an interesting and witty talk on her life as a Stage Manager with an opera company, an Events Organiser and a biographer of such different subjects as Rudolf Nureyev and Dave Allen. A great start to the year.

In February, Mike Pettitt of the Great Mill shared his views of Wickhambrook with us and by the magic of computers, took us on a tour of the village in the snow in 1991. He also showed some footage of the Carnival around thirty years ago and some fascinating aerial shots of the area. Parts of the village shot at strange angles made a fun quiz which was won by Sally Welsh.

Next month's meeting features Rachel Swann whose talk is called 'Through the Eye of a Needle'.

The Jumble Sale is on Sat 15th March, with all the usual stalls - look out for posters!
