Our guest speaker at this month's meeting was Ian Goldsmith who as his name would suggest is a maker of bespoke jewellery with a shop and school in Hatter Street Bury St Edmunds.
He spoke about the effects the current economic situation is having on the Jewellery trade and gave information about the courses available within his school workshops to make our own bespoke items using the raw materials, silver, gold and glass beads.
He passed around many beautiful examples and explained the techniques involved in their making. It all looked and sounded wonderful if challenging and some members seemed keen to try and create wearable items in the future.
Jean Coe thanked committee and members for their help and support in hosting the recent Gallops Group meeting held recently which had been warmly received and enjoyed by many of the institutes attending.
