We were delighted to welcome Michael Brown and Marion, Pat and Chris to demonstrate Tai Chi Chuan Wu Style. After a short history of the origins of Tai Chi Chaun and the proven health benefits of this natural and holistic style, members were mesmorised by the movements of hands, arms, feet and body in harmony in surprisingly fast motion at times.
There are 5 forms of the art each with 5 sections and a variety of linking techniques and movement. The ladies were keen to try and soon they were up joining in and doing very well as the majority were first timers to the oriental art. The calming effect on those doing and watching was clear to see and some may wish to pursue this further in weeks to come.
Another Yoga class is planned for Wickhambrook, starting in September. For two years, Chrissie Bond of Lilypond Yoga has been running a class on Friday mornings in the WI Hall at 9.30am. This was organised by the WI, but it is for everyone, members or not. We have several members from nearby villages, men as well as women. Chrissie's class is very popular and suitable for all levels of expertise. Her motto is 'Be kind! You can always be kind' and we have all flourished and improved in this atmosphere. We do not have a time/date for the new class, but it will be in the daytime. If you would like to join in with either of the classes, please contact Chrissie on email@example.com or Dorothy on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01440 820376. There will be posters up on the noticeboard shortly.
