4th January 2005 at 7.30 p.m. in the MSC Pavilion

3. Minutes of meeting of 2nd November 2004
The previously issued minutes were taken as read and signed.

4. Matters arising
No matters raised.

6. Tree Warden’s Report
Cllr. Bevan reported that trees and rabbit guards had been ordered.
 
7. Cemetery
7.1 Safety inspections. P. Bayman submitted a report:
7.1.1 Long brambles hanging out of trees presented a small risk.
7.1.2 Uncut sections of the rear bank look untidy. No safety issue.
7.1.3 Clumps of brambles look untidy. No safety issue.
 
Resolved that all be referred to the grounds contractor for attention. Clerk
8. Churchyard  
8.1 Safety inspections. Cllr. Bevan reported on his preliminary inspection:  
8.1.1 Headstones. A number need attention. A further inspection to be carried out in conjunction with the Clerk. Resolved that an order be placed with Saxon Monumental for any essential safety work. PBe/Clerk
8.1.2 Trees overhanging the rear boundary need attention and will be referred to the adjacent landowner.

9. Playground
9.1 Safety inspections. No report received.
 
9.2 Maintenance.
 
9.2.1 Senior swings. The Clerk reported that he had replaced the damaged seats.
 
9.2.4 Roundabout. Quote for replacement seats awaited.

9.3 Access. The Clerk reported that he had arranged a meeting with a contractor to obtain a quote for a path from the car park. Clerk
10. Teen Project
 
10.1 Routine safety inspections. The Clerk reported that he had carried out regular inspections. No safety issues had been noted.
 
10.2 Outstanding work. All completed.
 
10.3 Dogs. The Clerk reported that he had obtained some prohibition and clean-up notices for installation.

11. Six Acres  
11.1 Inspections. In the absence of A. Mitchell no report was available. The Clerk reported that he had appended a request for information to A. Mitchell’s agenda but had received no response. As it appeared that the inspections required by the Parish Council’s insurers were not being carried out it was resolved that an alternative inspection appointment be made. P. Miller volunteered to undertake this along with the Village Greens and this was approved.

11.2 Emergency/disabled access. The Clerk reported that he had not yet been able to contact a road marking contractor. Clerk
11.3 School parking. It was noted that the grassed area adjacent to the tennis courts has been badly rutted by vehicles. The Clerk was instructed to write to the headteacher requesting that teachers and visitors to the school be instructed not to drive on this area and to suggest that if overspill parking is needed that the MSC car park be used. Clerk
11.4 Motorbikes. Cllr. Harrison reported that there no longer appeared to be a significant problem.  
11.5 Overhanging trees. Branches overhanging the footpath along the side bank to be referred to the grounds contractor for attention.

12.1 Inspections. No report was available. P. Miller to take over (see 11.1).
