Surgery Equipment
Fund
|
Wickhambrook
Surgery is located in Boyden Close, Nunnery Green
and provides a friendly and professional service to the villagers
of Wickhambrook and other surrounding villages.
Wickhambrook Surgery Equipment Fund was founded to benefit all
patients at the surgery by the provision of extra items and
equipment that are used to help support patients in ways that
might otherwise be difficult to finance. In recent years the
Fund has financed the purchase of, among other things, a number
of home blood pressure monitors, a model spine for demonstrating
back problems to patients, an opthalmoscope and a spirometer
to monitor patients with chronic respiratory disease.
In addition the Fund helps to support the running of the Alexander
Dennis Memorial Library which provides a range of useful information
on many aspects of health care. Patients are very welcome to
borrow books from this library for short periods of time. Please
ask at surgery Reception.
Most of the monies received come from memorials, anonymous donations,
coffee mornings and open garden days. As we do not advertise
or hold any events ourselves we are very lucky to have such
generous contributors.
Donations to the Fund are most gratefully received and everyone
involved would like to thank those who have supported the Fund
over the years. |
| Although the Fund is not run by
The Surgery, people have sent donations to them in the past
which they in turn pass onto the Wickhambrook Surgery Equipment
Fund and if you wish to do this you can visit their page on

Plans for further fundraising events go on.
You may ask why the need to fundraise when we have already got
the money we needed? Quite simply, to assist with the cost of
maintenance and to help build up a fund for future expansion
and replacement.

Macmillan Cancer Relief’s
World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
|
Thank you, we created a stir!!!
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who attended and so generously supported my Coffee Morning recently. The event was part of Macmillan Cancer Relief’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and was a wonderful morning, with 79 people signing in. Once all the chocolate orders are in at the end of November, we will have a final total.
The final total for 2007 is £625 raised for Macmillan. All the money raised is used in the local area to help sufferers and their families benefit from the expertise of a Macmillan Nurse and all the counselling services that they can provide.
My grateful thanks to my helpers on the day without whom the morning would not run so smoothly, Karen Horne, Jean Coe and underwater ceramic technician (washer upper) Steve Coe and Liz Holehouse along with my husband Dave and Belinda from Chocoholics.
With sincere thanks for all the donations of money and donated raffle prizes and to the W.I. for the use of their hall for the morning.

You (and your partner) will be made VERY welcome
at PCSG meetings. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet other
people - many of whom have undergone a variety of different
treatments and have interesting stories to tell. You will find
that they are very willing to talk about their experiences,
and you will be surprised at just how relaxed and cheerful they
all are. So why not join them for a chat and some refreshments?
|
| Membership is FREE although donations towards
running costs are always welcome as we are a self funding organisation.
