At the AGM of the Wickhambrook Local History Society,
the officers and committee were re-elected to serve for a further
year, with the exception of Mrs Brenda Fairhall who wished to stand
down. Mrs Fairhall, a founder member of the Society and a committee
member for twenty years, was presented with a plant as a small
token of thanks for all her input over the years. Her place on
the committee will be taken by Mrs Joyce Draycott.
The AGM was
followed by a talk by Maureen Long on Village Signs. This was an
informative and amusing subject which introduced us to villages
in East Anglia both well- known and off the beaten track.
The next
meeting is on Wednesday 16th May and is a celebration of 20 years
of the Society. The evening is for members and invited guests only.
Please contact Gillian (01440 820052) or Dorothy (01440 820376)
to book your place.
Tickets for the Clive Paine guided tour of
All Saints Church on 24th May are now available.
There will be
a trip to the Bulmer Brickyards on Wednesday 7th June. Please look
out for more details on posters or on the website.
