At the AGM, the Officers and committee were re-elected to serve for another year with the exception of Andrea Grimes who wished to stand down after many years of hard work and loyal service. Kay MacEvoy volunteered to take her place and was welcomed and thanked by the Chairman, who reported on a successful and poular year of talks and outings.
The Speaker for the evening was Mike Petty who gave a marvellous and moving talk on the floods in the Fens in 1947. He illustrated his talk with slides by Cambridgeshire photographer Walter Martin Lane. By vivid story telling in the local accent, Mike brought this part of our history to life.
The next meeting is on Tues 15th May at7.30pm in the WI Hall when Christopher Hanson Smith will talk on The Huguenot Society - The First Refugees
