Jonathan Dutton brought thirty teapots to the History
Society meeting and he started by laying them out in chronological
order. His talk was called ‘A Cup of Tea’, and it included
history, geography, politics and etiquette which all shed light
on our tea-drinking habits. Jonathan’s style of presentation
made this an engrossing and amusing evening. With a background in
auctioneering and salerooms, he is well qualified to identify all
sorts of porcelain and delighted his audience with well-chosen anecdotes
along the way.
