The Chairman, Percy Nunn, welcomed members
old and new after the summer break. He was especially pleased to welcome
John Fuller, son of the late Clement, a former Chairman of the Society.
Members were proud and touched to have been remembered in Clement's
Will. A sum of money will be kept for a special project.
The speaker for the evening was Nick Sign, who gave a comprehensive
account of education in Suffolk before 1770. We were pleased to learn
that there was a schoolmaster in the village in 1662, but he would
only have taught the nobility.
