| Your Village Needs You!!! |
|||
Are you new to Wickhambrook ? Have you lived here long? If either of your answers is positive you are likely to have a good reason to read on If you are new to the village then you have chosen well. New people bring ideas and enthusiasm. So why not get to know more people by becoming involved in some of the great clubs and events that have become part of the Wickhambrook scene over the years. If you have lived here for a while you will already know what we are talking about There is a tremendous amount going on in this village but as always the more you put in the more you get out. There is always a new idea springing up from somewhere, just think of what has happened in the village over the last few years. 6 Acre development / RAFT 90s projects Sport East -- Sporting development award New Play Area Tennis Courts Bowls Green Hall Development Biggest (and best ) Village Panto in East Anglia and the Young Players' Productions Teen Project Plus something from the traditional clubs Body Rock, Snooker, Badminton, Indoor bowls, Football, WI, History Society, Horticultural Society, Wheelers and Joggers, Carnival time etc. (sorry if we missed anyone) Not to mention Dances, Disco's Charity nights and so on We are looking for the next idea, the next spark that will take us forward and keep Wickhambrook the vibrant friendly village it has always been. We are looking to form a small group to promote social events within the village and maintain the spirit of Wickhambrook! At the centre of much of the village social life is the village hall. The hall committee, which meets about six times a year, needs a secretary {mainly minute taking) and a treasurer (mainly bookkeeping, no invoicing - the Halls Booking manager does that). Could you volunteer? Why not give it a try for 12 months If you would like to join in or just put something back then now is your chance. |
