Prostate Cancer Support Group is run by patients
and has a specialised nurse dedicated to helping
Prostate Cancer
If you have just been diagnosed as having Prostate Cancer, you will probably be experiencing the shock and fear that we all felt at diagnosis. We know how you feel, because we have been there and we can help you throughout your new journey.
The bad news is in the diagnosis. The good news is that Prostate Cancer can be cured when it is detected before it has had a chance to spread outside the prostate capsule; and EVEN when diagnosed late, there are treatments now which can allow us to live full and active lives with Prostate Cancer for many years. So there is hope!

You are by no means alone on your journey. One in twelve men will be affected by Prostate Cancer.

The Prostate Cancer Support Group at the West Suffolk Hospital aims to help you and your partner find your way on your new journey. Everyone has different feelings and needs.

Support Helps

A cup of coffee and a friendly chat with others who are facing the same fears and worries will help you to maintain a positive outlook and alleviate some of your worries.

Don't forget that 21st - 27th March is Prostate Cancer Awareness Week

Our meetings provide a wonderful opportunity to meet other patients who have undergone a variety of different treatments and have interesting stories to tell.

You will find that we are very willing to talk about our experiences, and you will be surprised at just how relaxed and cheerful we all are.

Our meetings are informal and friendly - and we find plenty to laugh about.
