The Wickhambrook Petanque Club has enjoyed success
in the past having played in the first division of the Newmarket league
for 10 years and winning the plate this year.
If you are free on a Monday night and would like to join this club

We need at least 4 people to make
up a team but 8 is ideal.
Unfortunately, this year there are not enough players to register
in the league.
Teams have to register by March.
The Greyhound
is happy to support this club and in recent years the petanque pitch
was moved to the Greyhound gardens. The team have their after match
"sandwiches" at The Greyhound. There are four divisions
and 8 or 9 teams in each league of the Newmarket Division and most
of those are "pub clubs" and so the social aspect can be
just as much fun as the game.
This club desperately needs players
to keep going and is in danger of folding.
Please don't let this club go the same way as our Cricket Club.
You don't have to live in the village to qualify and everyone wil
be made welcome
