As part of their 80th Birthday celebrations, twenty-six members of Wickhambrook WI enjoyed a meal at Bedford Lodge Hotel in Newmarket. We love our Hall, but it was a treat to meet in such beautiful surroundings and enjoy the delicious food. Travelling by coach meant that wine was enjoyed by all and there was much laughter anf fun on this happy occasion (see photos)

The May meeting was a Recipe Tasting of Picnic Food, so after discussion of this year’s Resolution for the National AGM ( the closure of Community Hospitals) we had a lovely selection of treats to taste. Salmon en croute, Tomato Pesto Tart, Nutty Nibbles, Barm Brack, Spanish Tortillas and Ginger Crunch were voted winners for summer eating.

Next month’s meeting will be on Tuesday 12th June and will take place at Lackford Lakes Reserve. A walk around the lake, or birdwatching from the Visitor Centre and hides will be followed by our usual WI business.

Please be at the MSC Car Park at 6.30 when we will travel in convoy to Lackford.
