Report of Events in July and August 2004
It has been a busy summer for the W.I. with lots of events taking place. There were several outings in June, all in glorious weather. An evening meal at the Angel Vaults, the final photographs taken for the Landscape Project and the Reading Group spent the day at the seaside at a member's beach hut where books about the sea were discussed - amongst other topics.

In July there was an open meeting for the Air Ambulance funds, our charity for this year. The speaker was excellent and gave a comprehensive account of the history, activities and fund raising necessary as there is no funding from the Government. So, we were pleased to raise £100 from the Bring & Buy and Raffle. July also saw lots of baking done for the Show and Carnival teas, many thanks to those who supported them.

The August meeting was a themed French evening. The hall was decorated with Tricolores and posters, French music played in the background and two quizzes kept everyone busy before tapenade, cheese, baguettes, wine and soft drinks were served. There were some games needing quick reflexes before the parade of the decorated bras, all done in the best possible taste and very funny.

The Federation headquarters has moved to Park Farm, Fornham St. Genevieve and a visit for afternoon tea has been arranged for the 17th.

The WI meets every second Tuesday in the W.I Hall at 7.30pm and new members are always welcome. For further etails contact the President, Joyce Draycott, 01440 820328 or any member. Hall bookings, contact Freda Thomas, 01440 820297.
